Birthday Party FAQ

1. How much space is required for the music entertainment?

Rise and Sing will provide a large red blanket and cushions for your guests to sit on.  The blanket is approximately 10 ft x 12 ft.  A few additional feet of space is needed for the instruments and props.  You may need more or less space depending on how many guests you are expecting.  Please let us know if you have questions about the space you have available.

2. When will the performers arrive?

Amy and her assistant will arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to the scheduled music time to unload the equipment and set up the music area.

3. What do I need to provide?

The only thing you need to provide is an open space for the music to take place.  We will bring everything else, including the blanket and cushions to sit on.  We use a battery powered amplifier, so no electricity is needed. If you are planning to have the music program outside, shade is required.  If there is not adequate natural shade, you may need to provide a tent or umbrellas.  The only exception to the shade requirement is during the colder winter months.

4. Do the parents sit with the children during music time?

Absolutely!  Although the activities are designed for children ages 1 to 5 years old, the program is fun for all ages, and we encourage parents to participate along with their children.

5. Is it okay for my guests to eat during the music program?

We recommend that you allow enough time for your guests to eat before the music program, so that they can participate in all of the activities – or serve food after the music program has ended.  If some of your guests will still be eating during the music program, please provide a separate area where they can eat.  In order to keep our instruments and props safe and clean, no food or drinks will be allowed on the music blanket.

6. When is payment due?

At the end of the performance, Amy will provide you with a written invoice.  Please prepare your payment at this time while the performers are packing up.  We accept cash, Venmo, and checks payable to Amy Tibert.

7. Should I tip the performers?

Amy and her assistants work very hard to provide you with a high quality music program and a memorable birthday experience for you and your child.  If you feel that they have exceeded your expectations, a gratuity in any amount, although not necessary, is always appreciated.  Any tips received are shared among all performers.
